Hey Mamas! It has been a minute since my last post. Why? Well, 28 weeks pregnant with a 9 month old, within the last 6 weeks moved states to be closer to family and, finally situated in our new living space. With all the moving and settling in, somethings required the pause button to avoid further exhaustion.
Motherhood is humbling and teaches us (daily) our limits, boundaries and priorities. My description of mamahood is:
Crazy- Um yea, so what was I thinking?
Messy- Unpredictable schedule, multitasking, can’t find my keys, eating on the go, and showering becomes your 5 minute secret hideout place etc.
Beautiful- The best thing in the world, I would do it all over again in a heartbeat, indescribable and, how did I live my life so long without you? 💖
If you are feeling:
Exhausted- give yourself permission to slow down and hit the pause button on things you can come back to at a later date.
Overwhelmed- make a list, place it where visible and start with one thing at a time.
No time for self care- prioritize you, phone a friend and ask for help, take your baby with you on a walk, relish in a nurturing meal while your kiddos nap. Keep it real & simple.
Breathe & Ground- A few deep breaths while feeling your feet on the earth is calming to a frayed nervous system.
Growing a tiny human and raising kids takes a lot of energy. Eat well to keep your energy stable & strong. Rest to replenish. Exercise to recharge. And, laugh to keep it light.
